Actually the whole idea seems kinda odd. Why would you have sex with someone you weren't attracted to, unless you were forced to. How would you feel being obliged to sleep with someone you weren't attracted to? Which I think was the case when people married to hide their sexual orientation.
No doubt when the jews were struggling to survive in a harsh environment it was appropriate to order no one eat the pork and the shellfish as is ordered in the Bible lines away from where men shouldn't lay with men like they are women.
In this harsh environment they needed population, they wanted women to get pregnant and that won't happen if the men are sleeping with each other. These are conditions we no longer experience so we have done away with the embargo on shellfish and pork. Isn't time we stop caring who sleeps with who?
It all kind of reminds me of stories I heard of great grandparents who were beaten at school to force them to use their right hand instead of their left.
I don't remember making that decision of being right handed. It's time to be more tolerant.
