KFC Mashed Potatoes

In Australia, a number of years ago I bought some KFC and with the chicken came some mashed potatoes which I didn't want so I gave them to my dogs, who loved human food.

So for a treat I thought they would like these and as normal there was the usual excitement of receiving a treat - and then i set it before them outside.

They both looked up at me with utter disappointment, the kind of disappointment that said: we thought you were giving us human food.

In school we were taught the difference between poison water holes in the desert was insects. If the water is good, there will be insects about it, if its bad, there will be no insects.

So I left the mashed potatoes sit there for 3 days. Not a bird, not an insect, not a curious ant, not a dog, or a cat went anywhere near the 'mashed potatoes'. And there was no mold growing on it either.

I have no idea if they used a different recipe in Australia and it was a number of years ago, but whatever was in there, it was not real food.

Wow. If even ANTS won't touch it, it must be truly awful. Those fuckers will gravitate to anything liquid within minutes, on a hot day. :(

Good thing I don't eat processed crap, or I'd worry. :D

It's not possible that KFC mashed potatoes are really potatoes. My guess is Elmer's Glue.

Along those same lines with personal experiences:
Worked at Arby's (1971-ish) back when they used real top and bottom round beef, when corporate decided to switch to pressed meat loaves (made of chunks and I am guessing some kind of meat glue). Stray dogs used to hang out during closing time and get tossed the dried ends of the good meat. Once they switched to pressed loaves, the dogs sniffed and walked away.
Also, I had a Labrador who was a food hound (aren't they all?). My last McDonalds hamburger I ever ate (this was 80's by then) didn't taste good so I handed the rest to my dog. She sniffed it and just sat down looking perplexed.
I would rather go hungry than eat crap food. Eat organic, cook your own meals, know what is in your food! At 59 yrs old, I am still a size 4 in womens, 5 in juniors at 113 lbs.

I'm interested in food because we all need to eat. And as they say, you are what you eat.
