We Build Our Society 3
I am one of the founders of #wbos, We Build Our Society. We are a group of people who met on twitter looking at society in the US and around the world from many political vantage points. Specifically this relates to politics but more broadly we analyze society.
Tom, another founder, defines #WBOS as:
"a tag deliberately created to remind us of the personal roles each of us–as members of a shared society–can play in acting productively to repair and revitalize what many see as an unhealthy, eroding civil society. We cannot leave our problems simply to ‘government’ or to others."
We now exist on facebook, as a group which is often extremely active, and there is a facebook page. To join our facebook group ask one of the members to be added.

History
Towards the end of 2011 I had been asking people who voted GOP to discuss with me why they vote that way but I got very few replies, and nothing substantial. Basically, I wanted to find out how they saw the world differently to me.
I stumbled onto some twitter discussions and met Tom (@tokyo_tom) and he later named our discussion group We Build Our Society.
I am a liberal/progressive & Tom is a libertarian. As @tavlesh so succinctly put it:
Liberals tend to strive for a gov't that is not intrusive in its citzens' lives
but is available to serve their needs.
Libertarians seem to want a gov't that is neither intrusive in its citizens'
lives nor available to serve them.
Many conservatives seem to want gov't that is intrusive in citizens' lives,
but not available to serve them.

Rules & Guidelines
We are by no means exclusive. We welcome people to join our small community but we do ask people be civil to each other. We know that this can be difficult at times especially when discussing something as sensitive as politics. However, screaming expletives at people won't change their minds.
We also would have you ask people's positions on subjects before jumping to conclusions about what they think.
Also we ask people not to block each other.
Simply identify yourself as interested in joining and you will be put on a potential members list on twitter.
When there's too many people on the chains, drop non-participants, but at least please keep @1phd and @tokyo_tom.
